Who is God, really?

Most of us are working with a picture of God we never actually
chose. It came from a parent, a church, a bad year, or a
headline. This free course walks through the longings
underneath that picture and what God is actually like.

Why does nothing ever feel like enough?

Because we ask ordinary things to do more than they can. Money, control, attention, relief, and being remembered all deliver something real for a while. They fail when we hand them the weight of our security, our worth, and our future, which they were never built to carry.

These are not modern problems. They are ancient ones wearing new clothes. The longing underneath each one is not the problem either. It is a signal, and this course follows it honestly.

Watch the Course Introduction
  • “If I can just stay in control.”

Manifestation, optimization, productivity culture. Different century, same instinct as bargaining with a storm god for rain.

  • “If I have enough, I will be enough.”

The bar moves every time you reach it. That is not a discipline problem. It is the wrong scoreboard.

  • “If enough people want me, I will know I matter.”

Worth measured in attention is exactly as steady as the attention.

  • “If I can numb it, I can survive it.”

Relief that works for an hour and hands the weight back heavier than before.

  • “If I am loud enough, the world will be right.”

Outrage feels like justice and does real work. It still cannot finish the job.

  • “If I am remembered, I remain.”

Relevance offers a copy of permanence. It never quite hands over the real thing.

What You’ll Walk Away With

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

Name what you actually worship.

Follow where your attention, time, money, trust, and obedience go. It tells you more than what you say you believe.

Tell a longing from an idol.

The wanting is not the problem. What you hand it to is. Learn to see the difference in your own week.

Describe God in specific terms.

Not a vague higher power. Particular things Scripture says God is, and what each one meets in you.

Say what you believe, and why it holds.

Put words to a picture of God you have actually examined. No seminary degree required.

Course Syllabus

What are the attributes of God?

An attribute is not a piece of God. It describes something true about his nature. This course works through his self-existence, sovereignty, faithfulness, goodness, love, nearness, holiness, mercy, peace, justice, righteousness, knowledge, truth, eternality, and unchanging character, and asks what each one meets in you.

Nine sessions, conversational rather than academic, each one starting with something you already feel. Every session ends with a short quiz.
