Deepening Roots: Strengthening the Christian Faith Across Vietnam and Laos

Field Objective

Equipping the Movement

Providing targeted training in apologetics and leadership equips the local Church to answer the difficult questions of non-believers with confidence. By learning how to navigate cultural doubts, students, staff, and pastors are actively setting historical foundations to see Jesus clearly.

Strengthening Biblical Foundations

In November 2024, Sightline global representatives traveled across Vietnam and Laos to deliver five intensive training sessions focused directly on apologetics and spiritual leadership development. The spiritual needs across Asia are paramount, and providing local ministries with relational tools helps everyday believers cut through secular confusion. Rather than engaging in rigid debates, this mission focused on building long-term trust and coaching local ministry “champions” who can continue multiplying these lessons within their own home churches and communities.

Thank you very much for your training in apologetics and leadership to our students, and our staff and pastors… For students and staff, when they go out to witness to others, they will know how to answer the questions of nonbelievers with confidence and more evidence. They know how to defend for christian faith.

Truth in Action: A Seeker’s Hearts Awakened

True gospel impact happens when complex theological truths are shared with a gentle, calm attitude. Following the training sessions, members of a Youth Mission Group immediately put their new knowledge into practice during their Saturday night outreach.

A young seeker named Kim, who did not yet believe in God, attended the group session. The youth leaders utilized the Moral Argument and clear evidence for the existence of God that they had just learned.

Because the concepts were presented clearly, Kim listened intently, opening a door to show how the moral standards we share point directly to a loving Creator who touches human hearts

Experiencing the Presence of God: A Breakthrough in Laos

Spiritual leadership requires far more than intellectual knowledge; it requires a vibrant, living connection to the Holy Spirit. Navin, a 26-year-old Campus Director and full-time staff member for Laos CCC, shared a vulnerable testimony regarding his deeply personal struggle to feel the presence of God, noting that modern distractions frequently left his mind drifting during daily prayer and Bible reading.

During our intensive apologetics and leadership sessions, he discovered practical methods to intentionally refocus his mind and push past surrounding environmental noise. By shifting his personal devotions from quiet reading to speaking the scriptures aloud, he experienced an immediate and profound spiritual breakthrough.

This morning and last night, I tried praying and reading the Bible out loud… I found that this helped me feel the presence of God because when I read aloud, my heart focused on God, my mouth spoke to God, and my ears heard what I was saying to God, making everything align towards God… It was a very good lesson full of evidence. It will help me answer questions from non-believers when they ask about the credibility of the Bible.
