Lights in the Steppes: Anchoring Confidence in Biblical Truth Across Mongolia

Field Objective

Restoring the Workers

Equipping national ministries to share the Gospel confidently requires more than textbooks—it demands a deep restoration of the soul. By establishing the essential truths of Christianity, local leaders are gaining fresh courage to step into their calling with integrity.

Spiritual Restoration in Ulaanbaatar

In November 2025, Sightline global representatives traveled to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia—a nation with a young Christian history where modern foreign missionary church planting only began in 1992. In a capital city navigating an intersection of deep Buddhist roots and growing secularism, our national ministry team had been carrying heavy burdens of discouragement and uncertainty.

Through three days of targeted intensives, God used our curriculum for over 100 full-time staff members and campus workers. By anchoring their personal confidence in biblical truth, this training reminded them exactly why they first said “yes” to Christ’s call.

For months I felt spiritually empty and tired. During this training, God reminded me that He is still with me. I now see my calling clearly again.

From Classrooms to Congregations: Building a Resilient Faith in Mongolia

Field notes

A New Day for a Sovereign Generation

Mongolia represents a beautifully unique and open frontier for modern missions. Following generations of deep historic isolation, a Social Democratic system was established in 1992, fully opening the nation to absolute religious freedom.

Out of a total population of 3.5 million citizens, the Evangelical Christian Church is still effectively in its first generation of believers. Today, there are roughly 30,000 estimated believers worshiping across 700 local churches throughout the country.

Providing reproducible apologetics training materials ensures these young congregations can confidently answer hard cultural questions, defend their faith, and grow into self-sustaining, disciple-making movements.

Frontline Impact

Education as a Mission Field: Renewing Classroom Leadership

True cultural engagement reaches straight into highly influential everyday workspace professions. Education fundamentally shapes the future values of a nation, and Christian educators are discovering that their professional platforms double as vital ministry frontiers.

During this season of outreach, over 800 local schoolteachers and educational leaders gathered in conference to realign their professional execution with divine integrity. By dropping exhausting personal burdens and embracing a sacred calling, 30 public school teachers stepped forward to commit their lives and classrooms directly to Jesus Christ.
