  • Why did Josh McDowell Ministry change their brand to Sightline?

You’ve probably noticed our new look!  While our mission remains the same, our new brand better reflects our mission statement and strengthens our ability to connect with future generations, ensuring our mission continues to thrive.

  • Has the mission and vision changed with the new name?

No! Our core mission remains the same–cutting through cultural confusion so people see Jesus clearly. This is what has always driven us and always will. The rebrand is fueled by and built upon the culture-shaping legacy of Josh McDowell. Josh is in full agreement with the direction and believes the new brand helps us communicate our core more effectively and expands our reach. The ministry continues to serve students, parents, leaders, churches and virtual movements through the production of innovative events and cutting-edge ministry resources in the heart languages of people everywhere.

  • What is changing with the rebrand and what does it represent?

The rebrand involves a new name, logo, updated messaging, and a refreshed visual identity. While our appearance might look different, our core mission and identity remain the same.

Sightline was carefully chosen to directly connect to our mission of helping people around the world see Jesus clearly. This mission has driven Josh McDowell for the past 60 years and will continue to drive the Ministry for the next 60 years and beyond. When we see Jesus clearly, everything changes! The logo, in the shape of a window, represents how people see the world. The beam of light illustrates how Jesus penetrates the darkness so that we can see Him clearly. (John 1:5)

  • What was wrong with the old name/brand?

While our previous name served us well, Josh recognized 10 years ago the need for a clearer, more compelling identity that resonates with a broader audience and can appeal to new generations. He said we would know when the time was right to change the name. We have Josh and Dottie’s full endorsement. Josh is the first to say, the Ministry has never been about him (though his name was on the door), but all about the mission and messages God gave the Ministry—helping people globally see Jesus clearly.

  • What does Josh think about the change?

Josh and Dottie are fully supportive of the new name and brand. He sees it as a necessary and strategic step to ensure the ministry thrives and effectively reaches future generations. Josh says that Jesus has always been the Sightline of his ministry, and he has given his life to helping others have the same view, seeing Jesus clearly.
